5 Best Hikes on Oahu:
If you like straight forward hikes, Hawaii is the place for you. All 5 hikes we went on were very steep uphill but we were able to get to the top in 30 minutes or less. Coming from Washington state, where all hikes with spectacular views take at least 2 hours to get to the top, 30 minutes was a piece of cake for us in comparison. But beware, there is a reason so many hikes and activities are illegal here. If you are not an experienced hiker or are not cautious, you could get seriously injured. We were lucky enough to have sunshine the whole week we were there, but if there had been any rain, all 5 hikes would have been too dangerous to attempt. I recommend good hiking shoes or tennis shoes with grip, lots of water, and a hat to cover your head when the sun hits you. 4 out 5 hikes we did either during sunset or right before sunset, which is the best lighting for pictures, as well as the sun isn't as harsh during these times.
Hike #1:Koko head
Hike #2:Lanikai pillboxes
This was the most tourist and most popular hike we went on during our trip. Surprisingly we loved how simple the hike was. With beautiful the rolling hills, panorama views, and a stunning sunrise.
Hike #3: Makapu'u Tidepools
Hike #4: Crouching lion
